1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Authryn ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. Authryn is owned and operated by SpendJot.

2. Description of Service

Authryn provides a digital receipt authentication service for peer-to-peer transactions. The Service allows users to create, sign, and verify transaction records with phone-verified digital signatures. Authryn is a verification and record-keeping tool, not a legal contract or financial service.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

Providing accurate and complete information
Maintaining the security of your account credentials
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Pricing and Payments

Receipts are purchased at a fixed rate of $0.50 per authenticated receipt. Purchased receipts never expire. Failed or incomplete receipts may be refunded at our discretion. All payments are processed securely through our payment providers.

5. Receipt Verification Timeframes

To ensure timely transactions and protect both parties, receipts are subject to the following time-based conditions:

10-Minute Verification Window

When a buyer accesses a receipt verification link, they have 10 minutes to complete the verification process. If verification is not completed within this window, the receipt will be automatically cancelled and the seller will receive a refund.

24-Hour Inactivity Timeout

Pending receipts that have not been verified by the buyer within 24 hours of creation will be automatically cancelled due to inactivity. The seller will receive a refund and a notification about the cancellation.

Automatic Refunds

When a receipt is cancelled due to timer expiration, the receipt credit is automatically refunded to the seller's account balance. This ensures sellers are not charged for incomplete transactions.

6. Account Deletion

You may request to delete your account at any time. When you delete your account:

What Gets Deleted

Your account credentials and login information
Your passcode and authentication settings
Your phone number association with the account
Your receipt balance and any unused receipts
Your personal preferences and settings

What Gets Retained

Receipts are permanent transaction records and will not be deleted. This includes:

All completed and authenticated receipts you created or signed
Digital signatures associated with verified transactions
Transaction hashes and cryptographic verification data
Masked phone numbers displayed on receipts (e.g., •••-•••-1234)

Why receipts are retained: Receipts serve as immutable records of agreements between parties. Deleting them would compromise the integrity of the verification system and could harm other users who rely on these records as proof of transactions.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for:

Any unlawful purpose or illegal transactions
Fraud, impersonation, or deceptive practices
Harassment or harm to other users
Attempting to bypass security measures or verification
Creating false or misleading transaction records

8. Disclaimers

Authryn is not a legal contract. Receipts created through our Service are records of agreement, not legally binding contracts. We do not provide legal advice or guarantee the enforceability of any transaction. For legal matters, please consult a qualified attorney.

9. Limitation of Liability

Authryn and SpendJot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
